OUR VALUES STATEMENT
Because we are a collection of diverse individuals, we all have slightly different values relating to how we go about serving Christ. However, certain common values unify our efforts and define our unique characteristics. The values we share show us what Crossroads Community Church stands for, what our focus is, and what we believe in. Everything we do must withstand the scrutiny of our Values. What we value will be carried out in our ministries. At Crossroads our ministries will include such things as small groups, outreach, children, youth, women, men, etc. We summarize our core values in the following 8 statements:
CROSSROADS VALUES
1. We value “lost people” and believe they are important to God and therefore important to us. Luke 5:30-32
2. We value cutting edge communication that connects to today’s generation while maintaining biblical integrity and believe we must relate the gospel in ways that connect with everyday concerns. This includes the concept of sensitively relating the gospel to our culture through contemporary music, printed materials, and the use of the arts. 1 Cor. 9:19, 22b, 23.
3. We value teaching inspired by the Holy Spirit and believe that this teaching sparks transformation in individual lives and in the church. Romans 12:2, and 2 Tim. 3:16, 17.
4. We value the servant lifestyle Jesus modeled for us and believe that spiritual giftedness should determine where and how each believer serves in the church and in the community.1 Peter 4:10.
5. We value devotion to Christ and authentic Christianity and believe that followers of Christ should yearn for continuous growth. Eph. 3:17-19, Phil. 1:6
6. We value relationships and believe that God wants love to be the motivating force behind all we do at Crossroads. John 13: 34,35.
7. We value small groups and believe that God brings about life change best in a small group setting. Acts 2: 42,46,47
8. We value excellence and believe that we honor God and inspire others by doing everything to the best of our abilities. Col. 3:17, Prov. 27:17.
